KRLA 870 Los Angeles
KRLA is a southern California-based radio station owned by Salem Communications Corporation, the largest operator of Conservative Talk, Christian, and Inspirational radio stations in the nation.
The SALEM LA family of radio stations includes KKLA-FM (Inspirational Talk), KFSH-FM (Contemporary Christian Music), KTIE-AM (Conservative Talk) and KRLA-AM (Conservative Talk).
Since going on the air as KIEV in February 1933, the station has enjoyed success with various program formats, including big bands, standards, and top 40. In January 2001 the station adopted the KRLA call sign to promote a conservative talk radio format. An impressive weekday lineup includes conservative talk show hosts Dennis Prager, Michael Medved, Hugh Hewitt, Mike Gallagher, Mark Levin, Bill Bennett, Ben Shapiro, and Elisha Krauss.
On April 23, 2012, Salem Communications introduced "The Answer" brand to stations KRLA and KTIE—joining New York City news talk station WNYM-AM 970, which similarly revamped its image in March. KRLA management had long sought to launch their own local morning show in the Los Angeles market. To that end, syndicated talk radio host Glenn Beck was replaced with morning host Heidi Harris in the 6am to 9am time slot. "Heidi Harris in the Morning" aired on both KRLA and KTIE for one year.

KRLA has apparently severed ties with popular talk show host Kevin James, as of October 2011. His Los Angeles-based radio programs, The Kevin James Show and Local 870 with Kevin James, no longer appear on KRLA's schedule. The 12am to 3am time slot is currently filled with a rebroadcast of The Dennis Prager Show, Tuesday through Saturday.
Kevin James is an American radio host, political commentator, lawyer, and former assistant federal prosecutor. Beginning in 2010, Kevin James embarked on a city-wide tour, with a goal to attend 3 meetings in each of the city's 15 city council districts. Neighborhood council issues were regularly discussed on both of Kevin James' radio programs. His interest in the city is serious—Kevin James was a candidate for the 2013 Los Angeles mayoral election, and was endorsed by former Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan.
Sorry to see him go -- I listened often. No one knew more about Los Angeles politics on radio.
